Privacy policy

How OneBooks LLC collects, uses, and protects the information you share with us — in plain language, not legalese.

The short version: we collect what we need to respond to your inquiry and provide bookkeeping services, we never sell your information, and we use standard tools like QuickBooks Online and email to run the business. Details below.

01

Who we are

OneBooks LLC (“OneBooks,” “we,” “us”) is a bookkeeping firm based in Wyckoff, New Jersey, providing catch-up, cleanup, and monthly bookkeeping services to small businesses across the United States. This policy explains how we handle information collected through onebooks.co and our related landing pages, forms, and client communications.

We do not ask for or store bank account passwords or full card numbers on our website. Financial data shared during an active engagement is exchanged through your accounting software connection or a secure file-sharing method we set up together.

03

How we use your information

  • Respond to quote requests and schedule discovery calls
  • Prepare proposals and pricing based on the details you provide
  • Deliver bookkeeping services if you become a client, including inside QuickBooks Online and our practice management system
  • Send service-related communications, such as onboarding steps or invoice reminders
  • Understand which pages and campaigns are useful, so we can improve our site
  • Meet legal, tax, and accounting recordkeeping obligations tied to client work

We do not use the information you submit through a quote form for unrelated marketing without your consent, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

04

05

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages they view, how they arrived, and how long they stay. We also use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure which ads and keywords lead to quote requests, calls, or form submissions, so we can spend our advertising budget on what actually works. These tools rely on cookies and collect general usage patterns, not your personal identity, unless you’ve submitted a form. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, or opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google’s browser add-on; the site will still function, though some features may be limited.

06

How long we keep information

Quote and inquiry information that never becomes a client relationship is retained for a reasonable period to follow up, then deleted or archived. Client financial and engagement records are retained in line with standard accounting recordkeeping practices, typically for several years after an engagement ends, to support tax filings, audits, or legal requirements.

07

Your choices

You can ask us to:

  • Tell you what information we have on file for you
  • Correct inaccurate contact or business information
  • Delete your information, where we’re not required to retain it for legal or accounting reasons
  • Stop receiving non-essential marketing emails, using the unsubscribe link in any email

To make any of these requests, reach out using the contact details below.

08

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted connections, access controls, and secure platforms like QuickBooks Online — to protect the information you share. No system is completely immune to risk, but we take reasonable steps to keep client and visitor data secure and limit access to team members who need it to do their jobs.

09

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or tools change. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Material changes affecting active clients will be communicated directly.
